Brown University is proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for our 2015-2017 Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship! Sponsored by the University Emergency Medicine Foundation (UEMF) and affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and its School of Public Health, this two-year academic fellowship boasts a wealth of research mentoring opportunities, robust interdepartmental collaboration, and a rich clinical and teaching experience, both domestically and abroad. Fellowship applications are due no later than midnight on September 14, 2014.
As part of our fellowship, you can:
- Obtain mentorship and support from our entire academic Division of International Emergency Medicine, with over 10 faculty and fellows actively engaged in international emergency medicine development, training, research and humanitarian relief.
- Choose to earn either a Masters of Public Health (MPH) or Masters of Science in Clinical and Translational Research (MSc) from Brown University or a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) at an outside institution, depending on your own long-term interests and career goals.
- Participate in a dedicated humanitarian emergency/disaster certification course, such as the ICRC Health Emergencies in Large Populations (HELP) course.
- Rotate through one or more established international experiences, including projects in Rwanda, Nicaragua, American Samoa, Bangladesh, Haiti, and Turkey in areas such as post-conflict development, EM curricula design and training, acute humanitarian and disaster response, and global EM research.
- Benefit from additional global health opportunities at Brown University through its Global Health Initiative, the Brown International Advanced Research Institutes (BIARI), or the Brown Residency International/Global Health Training (BRIGHT) program.
Comprehensive fellowship benefits include:
- Competitive starting salary at about $90,000 per year
