Subject: University of Chicago Emergency Medicine Medical Education Fellowship
Dear CORD collective,
We have recently founded a Medical Education Fellowship - please forward this information to any interested residents.
Details are below and attached; please forward any questions and interest to jamesahn@uchicago.edu. Thanks!
The Section of Emergency Medicine at The University of Chicago is pleased to offer a non-accredited fellowship in Medical Education as our EM Scholar. Founded in 1972, our residency program and clerkship have a long-standing tradition of innovation in medical education. Additionally, our Section is robustly active in research, ultrasound, simulation, international medicine, and aeromedical transport.
The medical education scholar will be a junior faculty member in Emergency Medicine and will service patients in the Mitchell Emergency Department. Our adult ED has an annual volume of just under 50,000 patients, is a Primary Stroke Center and Burn Center, as well as an EMS regional resource hospital.
We seek applicants who are emergency medicine residency graduates seeking a career in medical education. Our scholar will work closely with administrations for both our EM residency program and our medical clerkships. The scholar can expect to experience and training in the following:
1) teaching methodologies and evaluation
2) curriculum design and assessment
3) scholarship in medical education
4) medical school clerkship and residency program administration.
Upon completion of the fellowship, our scholar can expect to enter the world of medical education and academic medicine with great success.
Qualified candidates with a passion for education and teaching are encouraged to apply online at the University of Chicago academic career opportunities site http://academiccareers.uchicago.edu by uploading a cover letter, current CV with bibliography, and list of references.
The University of Chicago is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer.
