Let's see if HIPPA-compliant email server works better this time . . ..
I realize that it's getting a bit late in the year, but this fellowship is a great opportunity.
We are pleased to announce that University of Massachusetts Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting two Global Health and International EM Fellows for July 2013. The Fellowship focuses on emergency care systems development and education with international work based mostly in East Africa. Clinical work in the US will be at busy academic and community EDs affiliated with University of Massachusetts.
The Fellowship is modeled on a two year curriculum (option for one year possible for those who already have an MPP or MPH) with funding for an MPH (alternative educational opportunities also possible). The Division of Global Health and International Emergency Medicine enjoys strong support from the department, is active in resident education and puts on a monthly Global Health Lecture Series for those interested in Global Health at the University. Multiple ongoing research projects are in progress and there is strong research and grant writing mentorship within the Department. The Department of Emergency Medicine at UMASS has the third highest NIH funding of US academic Emergency Departments. Considerable time for field work is built into the fellowship. Salary and benefits are very competitive.
