Subject: Academic Fellowship at Stanford
Dear Program Directors,
Please pass on the following opportunity to your residents who are interested in pursuing an Academic Fellowship.
· The Stanford Academic Fellowship is designed for an EM residency graduate interested in becoming an exceptional academician.
· The fellow will learn curriculum development, effective lecturing techniques and methods for evaluating learners that incorporates the new milestone evaluation system.
· The fellow will have ample opportunity to network at national conferences and gain skills to be a successful academician through the ACEP Teaching Fellowship and the Stanford Medical Education Scholars Program.
· Stanford faculty will mentor the fellow’s academic research with the goal of peer review publication.
· The fellow will also play an integral role in the Stanford-Kaiser EM Residency including the interview process while learning important skills of residency leadership and management.
· Clinically, the fellow will work at our level 1 trauma center, which serves as a world-class tertiary referral center, research center and medical school. They will also get pediatric experience working in our pediatric emergency department.
· Fellowship graduates will be well prepared for a career in academic emergency medicine with skills in medical education, clinical work, research and administration.
