We are excited to announce our new fellowship in Global Health at the University of Texas at Houston in collaboration with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
The 1-year fellowship includes 3 months in the UK to complete the DTM&H course, 2 months of dedicated field time in Asia and the Pacific, and an outstanding salary with benefits.
Our Division is focused on the cost-effective care of non-communicable diseases (STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma) in resource-limited settings. We are fortunate to have strong partnerships with Rice University, the UT School of Public Health, and the UT School of Nursing.
Highlights of the fellowship
-- A total of 5 months abroad in a 12-month fellowship.
-- Field projects in Fiji, Thailand, Burma, India, and Saudi Arabia.
-- 3 months at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine obtaining DTM&H degree.
-- Education research and development as Assistant Program Director for the new EM residency in Fiji.
-- Mentorship in the Global Health Scholars Program for housestaff at UT Houston.
-- Attending physician duties at a large-volume inner-city county hospital in Houston (LBJ General Hospital).
-- Salary of $120K with fully funded additional travel, CME, and benefits.
