Dear Residency Director,

The Ultrasound Division of the UCSD Department of Emergency Medicine is actively recruiting for an ultrasound fellow who will start in July 2015.  Our fellowship is one year and offers a competitive benefit and salary package.  We are looking for an applicant who enjoys teaching and is interested in research.  Since our residency program is a four year program, we will only be able to consider applicants who have completed PGY 4 level of training or applicants who have worked for one year after completing a PGY 3 program.

We have a robust ultrasound program with 5 faculty members.  Our areas of interest and involvement are resident education/curriculum, ultrasound QA and billing, ultrasound research, medical student education, and International ultrasound.  UCSD boasts a broad and sound infrastructure that would support any ultrasound related interest a prospective fellow might have, whether it be in research, education, international medicine, or in the biotechnological aspects of ultrasound. We have strong interdepartmental relationships at our institution and have worked on various projects and educational endeavors with our colleagues in Cardiology, OB/GYN, hospital medicine, and pediatrics to mention a few.   Our faculty has been involved in International Ultrasound endeavors taking us to such countries as Mozambique, Nepal, and South Africa.  Finally, San Diego has an outstanding quality of living that offers a multitude of outdoor activities as well as cultural experiences.  If interested, see our division website for more details:

Dear friends and colleagues,

I wanted to share information about a new Global Health fellowship, being offered through UCSF in conjunction with Partners in Health.

The program is a 2 year fellowship across many disciplines, with 2-4 places available for BC/BE Emergency Physicians.

During the program, fellows work clinically at the Navajo Nation and serve as faculty at our Emergency Medicine residency in Haiti -- the first in the country. An MPH is also offered through UC Berkeley.

It's a great opportunity for emergency physicians interested in global health and capacity building.

Please see the flier for more information, and feel free to distribute widely.

Best regards,

Regan
